Hello Vikings!!
I am excited to join the faculty here at Cleveland Early College HIgh School!! I look forward to working with students and families from all school zones within Cleveland County Schools. Students attending CECHS will have a unique opportunity to experience both advanced high school courses along with taking college classes. I know the faculty at CECHS will challenge students with appropriate rigor along with meeting the needs of students. I look forward to the continued partnership with Cleveland Community College serving the students of CCS. I can’t wait to meet our students and get to know them and work with them as they embark on a unique learning experience!
I started my administrative career at Kings Mountain High School as an Assistant Principal from 2015-2021. During the summer of 2021 I transitioned to be the Principal at Kings Mountain Middle and served there for the past three years. Prior to going into Administration I taught High School History at both Chase and East Rutherford High Schools for ten years. I taught History and coached baseball throughout my time as a teacher. I received my Bachelors Degree from Belmont Abbey College in 2005 and then obtained both my Masters of Administration (2015) and Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University (2018). I am married to Julia Tipton and we have two children Ava and Myles. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and working outside. Needless to say Ava who is 16 and Myles is 4 I am on the go most of the time with them. Go Vikings!!
