Even though I am so excited to be a Viking, I am a Golden Lion at heart! After graduating from Shelby High in 2014, I went to Gardner-Webb University where I graduated in 2017 with a degree in Healthcare Management.

My love of healthcare started in high school where I was the Head Athletic Trainer my senior year. Once I got to college I realized that I also loved the administrative side of healthcare so I decided to switch my major and landed on Healthcare Management.
I have gotten a myriad of experience over the years and feel that I am very well-equipped to face the challenges that my new role will bring.
I couldn't be happier to be a part of the CREW and look forward to going through this next year together!

Growing up, I’ve always had a passion for computers and technology.  As I was going through high school I never thought that this would be the profession I would one day be in.  This has helped enforce the notion with me that we are training students for jobs that don’t even exist yet. I received both Bachelors in Mathematics and Master’s in Educational Media from Appalachian State University.  I have been here at Cleveland Early College since 2016.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends outside of work going on random adventures.  I've been married since 2011 to my wonderful wife, Anna, and have a beautiful boy Mac who was born in 2019.  I also enjoy coaching at our CrossFit gym here in Shelby working with different people from around the county.

I have 21 years of experience as a School Counselor with Cleveland County Schools. Prior to being a School Counselor, I spent 5 years in Agency/Community Mental Health. I started coming to North Carolina during the summers in the late 80's, working as a lifeguard and whitewater raft guide in the Nantahala Gorge. The Blue Ridge Mountains and my husband-to-be captured my heart keeping me here in North Carolina.

I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida and graduated from the University of Central Florida. I have my Master's and Bachelor’s degrees in Exceptional Student Education.  I have been working in the field of education for over 14 years and am also National Board Certified Teacher. I have taught students in grades K-12, students with mild to severe disabilities, and children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. I love teaching and find it a very rewarding experience.  It can be challenging at times, but my philosophy has always been that all students can learn; we as educators just need to find the best way to teach them. On a personal note, I have been married for 13 years and have a five-year-old little girl and a golden doodle named Daisy. I was born and raised in Florida but have lived in several different states; due to my husband's career.  I recently moved to Kings Mountain and am enjoying exploring the Carolinas.

I am a transplant to Cleveland County. My family and I moved here in 2000 and I still wouldn’t consider myself a local. I grew up in Hendersonville, NC and graduated from Hendersonville High School. I had the awesome experience of attending Greensboro College at the age of 16. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Legal Administration. I met my husband while working at Camp Tekoa. We have been married for 25 years. We have 2 girls, one is a sophomore at Appalachian and the other will be spending the next year teaching English in China. Outside of work I enjoy reading, knitting, walking and being outside.

I am a proud graduate of Shelby High School and an alumni of Gardner-Webb University. I have obtained a Graduate degree from Liberty University and have been employed with Cleveland County Schools since 2018.

I am also a Phlebotomist and have serviced different healthcare systems as a phlebotomy tech, shift lead, and industrial clinician. I am extremely excited about transitioning into the position of School Health Technician and the opportunity to tap back into my healthcare background while continuing to serve my school system. The relationships I’ve gained with students and families have given me things I never knew I needed. Thank you so much for welcoming me to “The Crew.”
